Alana Duerr is a Senior Manager in Offshore Technology with DNV-GL. Prior to that Ms. Duerr was the Offshore Wind Lead within the U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind Energy Technologies Office. Dr. Duerr has supported the DOE’s offshore wind R&D efforts in various capacities since 2013. She joined the program as a NOAA Sea Grant John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow, and following her fellowship she supported the program as a contractor from 2014 through 2016. In late-2016, she was hired as the Offshore Wind Lead. In this role, Dr. Duerr leads the offshore wind technology R&D efforts, as well as working with her colleagues within and external to DOE to coordinate interdisciplinary efforts to facilitate the development of the offshore wind industry in the U.S. Dr. Duerr received her Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University, and her Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute.
